ABOUT US

Five years ago, for our 20th Year AKAversary, Spring 1998 of Alpha Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, launched a service initiative designed to make an impact in our community. Known as the 47 Emeralds of Ninety Virtuous Years (E.N.V.Y.), we created the 47 Queenly Acts of Kindness & Service and completed 40 acts of kindness and 7 acts of service between May and October 2018, culminating at Howard University’s Homecoming.

For our 47th act, we announced the establishment of a need-based scholarship fund at Howard University for incoming or current undergraduate women. Our goal was to raise at least $47,000 by our 25th Anniversary in 2023!

2023 is here, and we are finally Silver Star Members celebrating 25 years of service to all mankind! We are asking our friends, family and fellow alumni to help us meet our $47,000 goal - hitting $25,000 for 25 years by December 31, 2023! We only have $10,000 to go!
